Predictors of Adult Learners’ Persistence for Knowledge Expansion at Literacy Centres in Ibadan

Abstract

Knowledge expansion for sustainable development involves equipping adult learners with contents, skills and attitudes that can propel them to venture into higher levels of learning and endeavours. These skills, including information and communication technologies (ICTs) utilisation are obtainable at adult literacy centres generally. However, there has been immense attrition at many literacy centres in Ibadan with a handful of learners still committed to learning at each centre. Previous studies mainly examined attrition and persistence at traditional school settings (Sogunro, 2015). This study therefore investigated the predictors of adult learners’ persistence at literacy centres in Ibadan
